Setup errors?

If you have had an error message when install or running ProFooty such as:

Solution:
1. Go to your C:\WINDOWS\REPAIR folder
2. Copy AUTOEXEC.NT
3. Pasted the AUTOEXEC.NT file into the WINDOWS/SYSTEM32 folder.

It seems that some Adware and spyware are damaging or deleting the files: Autoexec.nt, config.nt and command.com
You may need to do the same copy for files: config.nt and command.com

Some users reported they had to use both Spysweeper and No-adware as well as Norton Anti-V to thoroughly clean their system.

Corrupt installation media detected error

Try the following:

Stop all other software before running the Setup file
Re-Boot and close any other none essential programes before installing ProFooty
"... It's often a good idea to switch off the anti-virus software when you're installing things, then switch it back on when you're done. ..." from http://www.newbie.org/help/messages/8094.html.

Windows2000:

You have to either download/install Windows 2000 Service Pack 2 or you may download the latest release of Microsofts for windows installer.

VBX out of date error

If you are getting a .VBX file is out of date error use the following Fix to update the ProFooty .VBX files on your PC.

Networks note: this fix must be run on each work station with "VBX out of date" messages.

Printing problems

Do this Printer Rename procedure first:

(Rename your printer to remove spaces from the printer's name.)

Click Start, Click Settings, Click Printers
On the List of Printers Right click and Rename (Also done with F2)

Replace any space characters in the name with an underscore: _

For example change "HP LaserJet 2000" to "HP_LaserJet_2000"
Re-Open ProFooty and check the Printer's name (on the Reports screen click Setup).
If reports still do not print re-boot your PC and try another print in ProFooty.

Other printing errors:

MSVCRT.DLL error:

Basically a Microsoft file (MSVCRT.DLL) in your PC's windows system needs to be updated. It seems a version of MSVCRT.DLL has a bug or two. Microsoft suggests you get a libraries update. I would recommend you ask your sys-admin person to get the Microsoft Libraries Update at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/192123/EN-US/.

Alternately a re-install of windows may also fix the problem.

HTML web reports

Available now.

Download the Footy2005_Update (Version 2005.D - see main page) and install.
HTML web report files are created when a report is previewed or printed.
The HTML file name for the report is displayed in the title bar (top line above the menu) when previewed.
Previewed Web reports can be copied (Ctrl+C) and pasted into E-mail, Word ...
The web report (.HTM) files can be attached to an email or opened with IE browser and copied.
